Andrew marr could have an operation this week to remove a malignant tumour on his kidney.

The previous political editor is expected to "make a complete recuperation and could be returning to the airwaves quickly", his agent mary greenham said.

The broadcaster will now not be website hosting his weekly sunday programme, the andrew marr show, at the same time as he recuperates.

The fifty eight-12 months-old informed viewers at the stop of sunday's show: "i'm going to be away for a couple of weeks or so."

He added: "i'm having a small clinic operation and i could be returned as soon as i possibly can, so be kind please to whoever is sitting in this chair next week."

In her announcement his agent introduced that he and his family "have requested for privateness at this hard time".

Marr tries new treatment for stroke
The surgical procedure comes five years after marr suffered a stroke, which saw him take a 9-month damage from his sunday morning display.

He spent two months in sanatorium, accompanied by way of months of physiotherapy to help him walk once more.

3 months after his stroke, the broadcaster gave an interview to his very own programme, wherein he said he changed into "lucky to be alive."

A bbc spokeswoman stated: "andrew is taking a length of time without work for medical reasons.

"we want him nicely and sit up for welcoming him returned on our monitors soon."
